One of my goals with ThemePatio is to make themes that don’t only look good but are also really easy to use and don’t take you countless hours to set up.
But even when the theme is super simple (in a good way) it still may be quite hard for some people to figure out how it works. Part of the reason is that some of them are just new to WordPress. There is nothing wrong with it. In fact, I think this is really awesome, I admire guys who roll up their sleeves and start doing something they haven’t done before.
I believe that our goal as designers and developers is to make products that are accessible for those people because this is how we grow our amazing WordPress community.
That being said, I decided to make a video course on creating a coffee shop website with Counter.
The course consists of eleven screencast videos that cover the basics of using the theme starting from the installation to setting up the front page, changing the color scheme, adding widgets and even tweaking the look of the website with CSS.
The course is available free on YouTube. I hope it will help those who are just starting out with the theme and WordPress in general.
